What makes a pitch work here
- A specific claim. "Why small retailers are quietly leaving click and collect" beats "an article about retail trends".
- Evidence you can actually get. Name the people you can interview or the dataset you already have.
- A reason it is this month. A deadline, a policy change, a season, a set of results.
- Your relevant background. Two lines. Credentials help, direct experience helps more.
Who we especially want to hear from
People early in their career who know one niche deeply, people outside Sydney and Melbourne, and people who have failed at something interesting and are willing to write about it honestly. You do not need a masthead in your history. You need to be accurate, on time, and able to take an edit.
