Editorial policy

How Todae decides what to publish, how we handle money, and what happens when we get something wrong.

Independence

Advertisers and sponsors have no say over editorial coverage. Nobody outside the editorial team sees an article before publication, with one exception: the subject of a sponsored post gets a factual check, and that article carries a sponsored label for life.

Sources

We name sources wherever we can. Anonymity is granted only when someone risks their job or safety by speaking, and a second source is required before we publish the claim. Company announcements are treated as claims, not facts, until checked.

Affiliate links

Some articles contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Products are chosen before the affiliate programme is checked, never the other way around, and an affiliate relationship never buys a recommendation. Affiliate links are disclosed at the top of any article that contains them.

Artificial intelligence

We use AI tools for transcription, research shortcuts and headline testing. Every published article is written, checked and signed off by a person. We do not publish machine generated articles under a human byline.

Corrections

Errors of fact are fixed as soon as they are confirmed, and a correction note is added at the foot of the article with the date and what changed. Typos are fixed silently. We do not quietly delete articles to make a problem go away. Request a correction through the contact form.

Right of reply

If an article makes a critical claim about a named person or business, we contact them for comment before publication and leave a reasonable window to respond. If they respond after publication, the response is added to the article.

Who is responsible

Sophie Callaghan is the editor and is responsible for everything published here. Complaints that are not resolved by email can be escalated by writing to the postal address on the contact page.
